Snowboard conditioning – leg and core strengthening

Winter is upon us in Oregon, thus it’s time to step up into high gear to be ready for the snowboard season. The video above highlights four effective core and leg strengthening exercises to help prepare for a season of shredding.  Pulling from the BPM Rx exercise prescription software library, Ben demonstrates how to perform low side-to-side lunges, a corkscrew lift, drop lunges, and a modified deck squat.  If you’re a snowboarder, these four exercises should incorporate nicely into your workout routine, whether it’s in your garage or at the local gym.  Likewise, physical therapy and personal training professionals should hopefully find a few gems to help rehabilitate or condition your extreme sport athletes.
